Westgate on Sea- Good news- Arrest

Dear residents of Westgate on Sea,

   Some good news to bring to your attention regarding a proactive arrest this evening.

   On Friday 21st August 2026, I was patrolling Westgate on Sea with a colleague. We sighted a wanted male on a pedal cycle travelling along Station Road, and both immediately recognised him from CCTV stills. After a brief attempt to evade patrols on his pedal cycle he was successfully apprehended and arrested for theft shoplifting, theft of a pedal cycle, two fail to appear warrants, and a recall to prison warrant. This male had already evaded patrols several times this week across Thanet, and on this occasion his luck simply ran out. 

  This highlights that having Beat Officers out in the community with a proactive mindset can yield excellent results in removing criminals from our streets.
